City of Davao has many nicknames,one of this is "Fruit Basket of the Philippines" because many fruits are growing in the City and nearby towns like Durians,Mangoes,Pomelo,Mangoosten,and many more...Davao is located in the southern part of the country and a highly urbanized city in Mindanao with a populations of more than 1.6 million people,third most populous city in the Philippines behind Metro Manila the Capital City located in Luzon and Metro Cebu in Visayas,Located in Central Philippines.
The City is the main trading center in Mindanao,small business enterprises and large corporations are expanding there business in the city.High Rise Condominiums and large Shopping Malls are located in the city.Davao has its own Airport and Seaport.Francisco Bangoy(Davao) International Airport has Local and International flight with many airlines are serving travellers around the globe.Davao Port serve large freight ships and other shipping lines dock on the port.

The City Hall of Davao is the heart of the City,here you can walk around the 2 parks that dit here,Rizal Park and Quezon Park.Rizal Park has the shrine and head statue of Rizal(dedicated to the Philippines National Hero,Dr. Jose Rizal).The Park has also has a small stage were local concert sometimes held there and other local Occasions.Quezon Park has many trees and a playground for childrens to play with their families.Their are also massage for hire and other activities.Peoples Park the newest park in the city has a unique fountain display,a small dome called Durian Dome, Playground for children to hang up with their families,Trees and ponds and a lot more to amuse you.Ramos Magsaysay Park  located near the shore of Davao Gulf is oldest park In the city with a large Statue of Ramon Magsaysay,the park was dedicated to him(Ramon Magsaysay was the 7th President of the Philippines).Crocodile Park is like a mini zoo because of so many animals present there.Birds,Reptiles,Tigers,Fishes and even a Butterfly Sanctuary.I'ts far from downtown city but if you visit the park you can ride a taxi only 20minutes.Philippines Eagle Park in Malagos is home of the World Largest Eagle the Philippines Eagle also known as Monkey Eating Eagle.It is the center were they breed,hatch and feed the baby eagles before releasing it to the wild.There are also many kind of different species at the Center.Eden Nature's Park is the best park to visit if you don't like the city noise.Here you can stay in there Lodge,go hiking and have a fun and adventures.Mt. Apo the country's highest active volcano with a 3,144 meters above sea level.If your a Mountaineer and you love hiking Mt. Apo is right for you and your friends just hire a guide and your off to the peak.

City History:
Davao City is the largest city in the Philippines and the World in terms of land area.Davao City is part of Davao del Sur Province but was a self-govern,Mayor and Vice Mayor are the head of the city.City begin it's history in 1848 when the Spanish conquered Davao Gulf against the Morros a local tribe in the region.The Spanish conquest in Davao Gulf area is not easy,the Morros has fortified and concentrate their forces near Davao River where spanish ship can't concentrate there guns and had to retreat even with the help of other local tribe called mandayas until reinforcement arrived in Zamboanga.They captured the Davao but not without harassment of the morros still fighting against them.With the Americans takeover the Island Archipelago,Davao grows faster,business are coming and Filipinos are staying in Davao as opportunities.In March 01,1937 Davao become a City with 68,000 populations,years come populations increase every year.When the Japanese invade the the Island,Davao was not spared,the city was devastated by Japanese forces and occupy until the war end.After World War 2 the city need to be reconstruct brought by war.Today Davao economy growth are faster that any city in the Philippines with the help of Local and National Government. Local and International businesses are coming in the booming economy of the South,Davao City.
