In 1521 a group of Spanish expedition lead by the named, Ferdinand Magellan ,a Portuguese born.The expedition landed them to  Homonhon,Eastern Samar ,and discovery the island archipelago now called,The Philippines.A country in Southeast Asia  situated in Western Pacific Ocean.The archipelago compose of 7,641 islands,categorized into three main geographical divisions Luzon in the north,Visayas in the central Philippines and Mindanao in the south and the capital city is Manila located in Luzon.

 The Philippines has an area of 300,000 square kilometers(115,831 sq mi),located closed to equator,the Philippines is proned to typhoons and earthquakes,makes the country Pacific Ring of Fire.The country's populations of over 100 million filipinos is one of the fasting in Asia,making it The seventh most populated country in Asia,and the 12th most populated country in the World.Multiple ethnicities and cultures are found throughout the islands,the Negritos are the earliest inhabitants of the archipelago.Now there are many filipino ethnic groups today,Tagalog,Visayan,Ilocano,Bicolano,Moro,Kapampangan,Igorot,Zamboangueño,and some others ethnic groups that represents the Filipinos.The Philippines has many languages,Cebuano,Ilocano,Tagalog,Waray,Hiligaynon,some Morro Languages Maranao,Tausog and others.


Luzon,an islands in northern Philippines were Manila is located,the largest and most populous island in the Philippines,15th in the World.a total of 48 million filipinos,2010 census are living in the island,it is the 4th most populous in the World after Java,Honshu and Great Britain.Quezon City the most populous city in the country is also located in Luzon.The island has an area of 109,964. 9 square kilometers(42,457.7 sq.mi.),divided into 4 sections Northern Luzon,Central Luzon,Southern Luzon and the National Capital Region.The island is covered by 8 Administrative Regions they are Ilocos Region,(region 1),Cagayan Valley,(region II),Central Luzon,(region III),Calabarzon,(region IV-A),Mimaropa,(region IV-B),Bicol Region,(regionV),Cordillera Administrative Region,(CAR),National Capital Region,(NCR).It has 38 Province and 71 Cities all over Luzon and it's nearby Associated Islands.

Visayas,second of the three main geographical divisions is located in central Philippines,it is compose of several small and large islands with 61,077 square kilometers(23,582 sq.mi.)Visayas has several major languages most spoken are Cebuano in central visayas,Waray in eastern visayas,Hilagaynon or Ilonggo in western visayas and Negros Occidental.Some other languages are also spoken in visayas,Filipino the national language of the Philippines are also use to communicate but not widely understood and seldom used.Population of visayas is 19.3 million living in the area,Cebu City's population is 922,611.Visayas is divided into four administrative regions Western Visayas,(region VI) with 5 Provinces Aklan,Antique,Capiz,Guimaras and Iloilo.Another region theNegros Island Region,(NIR/region XVIII),with two provinces namely Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental.The third region in visayas the Central Visayas, (region VII),with three provinces Bohol,Cebu and Siquijor.And the fourth region Eastern Visayas,(region VIII )with six provinces this are Biliran,Eastern Samar,Leyte,Northern Samar,Samar, and Southern Leyte.there are thirty-two cities in visayas,some of the Cities are Cebu City,Bacolod City,Iloilo City,Tacloban City,Dumaguete City,Lapu Lapu City,Ormoc City and other smaller cities.


In the southern most part of the country the island of Mindanao is located,second largest island in the Philippines with 104,630 square kilometers.The island is a mountainous and is home to Mt.Apo,Philippines highest mountain and it is the eighth most populous island in the World.Mindanao has 6 administrative region that covered the island,namely Zamboanga Peninsula,(region IX) with three provinces Zamboanga del Norte,Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga Sigubay,Northern Mindanao,(region X)with five provinces Bukidnon,Camiguin,Lanao del Norte,Misamis Occidental,Misamis Oriental.Davao Region(region XI) has five provinces Compostela Valley,Davao del Norte,Davao del Sur,Davao Oriental and Davao Occidental.The fourth region in Mindanao is Soccsksargen(region XII) with four provinces Cotabato,Sarangani,South Cotabato, and Sultan Kudarat.Caraga(region XIII) has five provinces Agusan del Norte,Agusan del Sur,Dinagat islands,Surigao del Norte,and Surigao del Sur.The sixth region is Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao(ARMM) has five more provinces in Mindanao this are Basilan,Lanao del Sur,Maguindanao,Sulu and Tawi Tawi.Mindanao has 33 cities this are Davao City,Cagayan de Oro City,Zamboanga City,and Cotabato City and more other cities in Mindanao.
