Malaysia,ranked 11th in the world and second in Southeast Asia in tourist arrivals,and tourism become third largest source of foreign income in Malaysia.In 1999 Malaysia launched a worldwide marketing tourism campaign called "Malaysia,Truly Asia" which was largely successful and brought in over 7.4 million tourists.

Langkawi officially known as Langkawi the jewel of Kedah is a cluster of 99 islands in the Andaman Sea.Only four islands are inhabited;Langkawi (the main island),Tuba,Rebak,Daya.The islands are agro-based economy of paddy and rubber cultivations and fisheries is fast overtaken by tourism because of its natural,unspoiled and ecological beauty of the islands.On 1 June 2007 Langkawi island was given a World Geopark status by UNESCO,three of the main conservation areas in Langkawi Geopark are Machincang Cambrian Geoforest Park,Kilim Karst Geoforest Park and Dayang Bunting Marble Geoforest Park and these three parks are the most popular tourist in Langkawi.Tourists can enter the islands via ferry from Kuala Kedah,Kuala Perlis and Penang or by domestic flights  from Kuala Lumpur or Subang Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airports.

Gunung Mulu National Park is a national park in Miri Division,Sarawak and is famous for its limestone karst formations.The national park has the largest known natural chamber or room,The Sarawak Chamber,found in Gua Nasib Bagus it is 700 m (2,300 ft) long,396 m (1,299 ft) wide and at least 70 m (230 ft) high.The nearby Deer Cave is one of the largest single cave passage in the world and the Clearwater Cave is the 8th longest in the world and believed to be the largest cave in the world in volume.Other features include;enormous caves,vast cave networks,rock pinnacles,cliff and gorges.The park also main attraction is Mt. Mulu,Sarawak second highest mountain.The only way going in the park is by air,via the Mulu Airport.

Taman Negara literally means National Park in Malay has a total area of 4,343 km²,encompasses three states Pahang,Kelanta and Terengganu.The park has a reputation as the oldest deciduous rainforest,estimated to be more than 130 million years old.The park has been developed into a famous ecotourism destination,there are several geological and biological attractions in the park.Guhun Tahan is the highest point of the Malay Peninsula,climbers can use Kuala Tahan or Merapoh as there departure point and Taman Negara is home of some rare mammals.Tahan River ha been preserved to protect the Malaysian Mahseer,a type of game fish.Other attraction found in the park includes a canopy walkway,Gua Tilenga (cave system),Lata Berkoh (rapid),visitors can enjoy tropical rainforest, birdwatching or jungle trekking and river views in Tahan River.

Tioman island located 32 kilometres (20 mi) off the east coast of the state of Pahang.The marine area in Tioman island and eight other nearby islands have been declared as marines park and marines reserved.The inland rainforest area was protected in 1972 as Pulau Tioman Wildlife Reserved.The island is served by ferries from the Malaysian mainland and planes through Tioman Airport.The island is densely forested and is surrounded by coral reefs making it s scuba diving spot,the waters around the island is littered with war remains,including HMS Repulse and HMS Prince of Wales.

Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park comprises a group of five islands located between 3 and 8 km off Kota Kinabalu in Sabah,the park is spread over 4,929 hectares,two-third of which is covers the sea.The largest of the Five islands in the park is Gaya,covered with dense virgin tropical forest,has 20 km hiking trail and some 5 stars resorts in the island.Ideal for swimming in a crystal clear water,good diving conditions and quiet beach for public recreational use.Manukan island,second largest island in the park features the most developed tourist facilities,the best beach is on the eastern tip of the island.Offshore of Manukan are coral reef,which is ideal for diving,snorkelling and swimming.Mamutik the smallest island in the park offers good beaches,coral reef and has a jetty.Sapi island features one of the nicest beaches in the park and most popular with tourists for scuba diving and snorkelling.Camping and campfires are allowed with the permission from the park warden.Sulog island is the farthest island of them all,considered relatively untouched,remote and undeveloped.More popular with foreign tourists who prefer a quite and tranquil atmosphere.

Kinabalu National Park established as one of the first national park of Malaysia in 1964 and Malaysia's first World Heritage Sites in 2000 for its "outstanding universal value"and the role as one of the most important biological site in the world with more than 4,500 species of fauna and flora.The park covers an area of 754 km² surrounding Mt. Kinabalu which at 4,095.2 meters,the highest mountain in Borneo.There are two main starting points for the climb; the Timpohon Gate and the Mesilau Nature Resort,Climbers must be accompanied by accredited guides at all times due to national park regulations.

Cameron Highlands is Malaysia's most extensive hill stations,it occupies an area of 712 square kilometers (275 sq mi).Developed in the 1930s the tableland is one of the oldest tourist spot in Malaysia,the plateau is also noted for its cold weather.Cameron is unique when compare to other hill stations in Malaysia,it is drained by eight rivers and there are also eight mountains at the retreat.Overall,most of the retreats is still forested (estimated 71%).Jungle trails lead visitors to scenic spots,waterfalls and aboriginal villages.The Highlands was named after Sir William Cameron,a British who discovered and survey the area in 1885 who was commissioned by the then colonial government.

Petronas Twin Towers are twin skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur they were the tallest building in the world from 1998 to 2004 and remain the tallest twin towers in the world.Designed by an Argentine architect Cesar Pelli.The 88-floor superstucture towers are constructed largely of reinforced concrete,with a steel and glass facade designed to resemble motifs found in Islamic art,a reflection of Malaysia's Muslim religion.The towers feature a double decker skybridge connecting the two towers on the 41st and 42th floors,which is the highest 2-story bridge in the world.Below the twin towers is Suria KLCC a shopping mall,Dewan Filharmonik Petronas,the home of Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and the KLCC Park.
